Wisconsin 2016 Waterfowl Hunting Seasons Finalized

Migratory game bird hunters in Wisconsin will have 2016 seasons for duck, geese, dove, woodcock and other migratory game birds that are nearly identical to last years structure under a rule approved by the state Natural Resources Board. The only significant change is in the Horicon Canada goose hunting zone where goose hunters would be allowed to hunt on any day of a continuous 92-day season instead of selecting a specific period as they have in the past. Wyoming Wolf Population on The Rise

wolf pair   Wyoming's wolf population has soared and the once-endangered animals are expanding into new territory. The states wolf population was at least 328 at the end of 2015, the highest since the carnivore was reintroduced to the ecosystem in the mid-1990s. Wyoming Game and Fish Department carnivore biologist Ken Mills says the new wolves are mostly living on the fringes of their range in the states western mountain. East Fork of the Arizona Black River to Receive Tagged Trout Beginning in May

rainbow trout close-up   The Arizona Game and Fish Department is implanting radio tags into a small percentage of hatchery-raised trout that will be stocked into the East Fork of the Black River in the White Mountains to examine stocked trout movement and fate. Florida 2016 Gulf Recreational Red Snapper Season Set

At its April 13 meeting in Jupiter, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) set the 2016 recreational red snapper season in Gulf of Mexico state waters. New Mexico Officials Seeking Information on Several Poaching Cases

Rewards are available for information leading to charges being filed in the following cases. A game warden found a dead cow elk about 80 yards off the south side of N.M. 283, outside of Las Vegas, N.M., March 27. The animal had been shot in the head with a .22-caliber bullet and left to rot.
