NH 2016 Moose Permit Auction Now Open

New Mexico 2016-17 Migratory Game Bird Information Booklet Now Available Online

Rules and information about applying for licenses and hunting migratory game birds, including doves, sandhill cranes and waterfowl for the 2016-17 season are now available online. New this season are an increase in the bag limit and number of permits available for sandhill cranes. The department will begin accepting applications July 27 for sandhill crane hunts. Apply for Tennessee Big Game Quota Hunt Through July 27

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has announced the application period for the 2016 Wildlife Management Area (WMA) Big Game Quota Hunts, the regular elk, youth elk, and WMA youth will run from June 15 through July 27. Entries must be submitted before midnight (CDT) July 27. The WMA hunting instruction sheet lists locations and dates for each of the quota hunts along with drawing rules and regulations. Instruction sheets can be obtained and applications made for the hunts at any TWRA license agent, TWRA regional office or online at the TWRA website, www.tnwildlife.org. Vermont Printed Moose Hunting Applications Available Through July 12

Vermont moose hunting permit applications are on the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department’s website and now printed applications are also available at license agents statewide. A total of 135 regular moose season permits and 25 archery moose season permits will be issued for Vermont’s 2016 October moose hunt. New State Record Shoal Bass Caught in Florida

Florida Record Shoal Bass  Jimmy Ray Tice from Cottondale caught a 5.2-pound shoal bass on the Apalachicola River in Gadsden County at 6:45 a.m. on May 27, 2016. He beat the previous certified state record by more than 5 ounces.

Tice’s shoal bass is the fourth certified state record since March 2015. The certified weight of 5.2 pounds broke the previous record of 4.85 pounds set by Stewart Mayeaux in September 2015. New Mexico DGF offering $750 in Rewards for Information Leading to Charges on Poached Elk

NM poached elk  The Department of Game and Fish is seeking information on an elk that was illegally killed on June 4, 2016 in Game Management Unit 36 near Ruidoso Downs. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife plans to release approximately 150 spring Chinook salmon into the Powder River to create a unique fishing opportunity for anglers.
