New York Deer Permit Application Deadline Is October 1- Early Bow Seasons Open Sept 27

New York Deer hunters should also be aware that the application deadline for Deer Management Permits (DMPs) is October 1. New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Commissioner Basil Seggos announced today that several small game hunting seasons open October 1. In addition, there are special youth-only hunting seasons for pheasants and waterfowl opening prior to the start of the regular season. North Carolina Catfish Lake Waterfowl Hunting Opportunities Delayed Until Late Dec

Wildlife Resources Commission, in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and Ducks Unlimited, is replacing six water control structures, pumps and power units on the 800-acre impoundment located within the Croatan National Forest in Jones County. The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will implement Delayed Harvest Trout Waters regulations on 36 trout waters in 20 western North Carolina counties on Oct. 1. Prior to Oct. 1, Hatchery Supported Trout Waters regulations apply to these waters. Under Delayed Harvest Trout Waters regulations, no trout can be harvested or possessed from these waters between Oct. 1 and one half-hour after sunset on June 2, 2017. Florida baby Burmese Python  Burmese python hatchlings have been spotted for the first time on Key Largo, a discovery that’s prompting officials to send postcards to homeowners there asking for help spotting the elusive snakes. The postcards show a picture of a python and list a phone number to call if someone spots one.
