Wyoming Lawmaker Seeks Safeguards for Yellowstone-Area Grizzly Bear Hunts

A high-ranking WY lawmaker says he opposes removing federal protections for Yellowstone-area grizzly bears without more stringent restrictions on future hunts for the animals. A decision on protections for grizzlies in the Yellowstone region of Montana, Wyoming and Idaho is expected by year's end. U.S. Rep. Minnesota hunters who were not chosen in the lottery to receive an antlerless deer permit can obtain one of 12 surplus antlerless permits for deer permit area 260, which covers the northwest corner of Minnesota and borders North Dakota and Manitoba. The Mississippi deer archery season opens October 1 for the Hill and Delta Zones and October 15 for the Southeast Zone. Illinois Stocks Alligator Gar as Part of Reintroduction Program
