WDFW Stocks 915,000 Trout in Washington Lakes

With tens of thousands of trout destined for Washington lakes before November, anglers should have plenty of places to enjoy great fishing this fall and through the holiday season. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) will stock at least 35 Washington lakes with catchable-size trout this fall. Nevada Youth Waterfowl Hunts for Overton WMA Oct 15

youth waterfowl hunting  Nevadas young hunters will have an opportunity to participate in a youth-only waterfowl season scheduled for Oct. 15, 2016 at the Overton Wildlife Management Area (WMA). This youth season is open only to hunters 17 years of age or younger, including non-residents. The young hunters must be accompanied by an adult who is at least 18 years old. Apply for Nevada Resident Only Emergency Doe Hunts by Oct 20

The Nevada Board of Wildlife Commissioners have endorsed an emergency antlerless deer (doe) hunt proposed by the NDOW designed to reduce the size of the Izzenhood portion of the Area 6 deer herd and minimize deer malnutrition and starvation on the winter range, while also reducing the effects of winter browsing on the remaining unburned habitat. The application period for these emergency hunts will open Thursday (Sept. 29) and close Thursday, Oct. 20. North Carolina Youth Deer Hunting Opportunity Dec 10

The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission is offering a youth-only deer hunting opportunity on Dec. 10 at Weyerhaeuser-Cool Springs Environmental Education Center in Craven County. The hunt is limited to 10 youth ages 12 to 15. Hunt permits, which cost $5, are issued on a first-come, first-serve basis. Oklahoma Panhandle Waterfowl Hunting Opens Oct 29

The Oklahoma regular hunting season for ducks, mergansers and coots will open in the Panhandle Zone on Oct. 15, in Zone 1 on Oct. 29, and in Zone 2 on Nov. 5. Goose season will open statewide Oct. 29. The 2016-17 daily limit of six ducks may include no more than five mallards (only two may be hens), three wood ducks, three scaup, two redheads, two pintails and two canvasbacks. Deer hunters 17 and younger will have the chance to take shots before other gun hunters when they participate in Oklahoma's Youth Deer Gun Season on Oct. 14-16. The Youth Deer Gun Season is an ideal time to take a youngster out and hopefully bag that first buck or doe of the year. Maryland Chronic Wasting Disease Rules Altered

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources reminds hunters that chronic wasting disease regulations were updated earlier this year after five white-tailed deer tested positive for the disease in Allegany County.
