The Nevada Board of Wildlife Commissioners have endorsed an emergency antlerless deer (doe) hunt proposed by the NDOW designed to reduce the size of the Izzenhood portion of the Area 6 deer herd and minimize deer malnutrition and starvation on the winter range, while also reducing the effects of winter browsing on the remaining unburned habitat. The application period for these emergency hunts will open Thursday (Sept. 29) and close Thursday, Oct. 20.
