MO record hybrid stripped bass  The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) reports that Mark McArtor of Camdenton became the most recent record-breaking angler in Missouri when he caught a hybrid striped bass on the Lake of the Ozarks. Vermont 2016 Rifle Deer Season Opens Nov 12

Hunters are gearing up for the start of Vermont’s statewide traditionally popular 16-day rifle deer season that begins November 12 and ends Sunday, November 27. A hunter may take one buck during this season with at least one antler having two or more points. A point must be one inch or longer from base to tip. Massachusetts Reopens Waters South of Cape Cod to Shellfishing

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) announced that remaining Deer Management Permits (DMPs) in several Wildlife Management Units (WMUs) are available to hunters. Deer Management Permits, which allow hunters to harvest antlerless deer, are issued for specific WMUs to control deer populations. The North Dakota Game and Fish Department’s fall mule deer survey indicates that mule deer had another good year of fawn production. Biologists counted 3,003 (2,157 in 2015) mule deer in the annual aerial survey in October. The buck-to-doe ratio of 0.48 (0.42 in 2015) is higher than the long-term average of 0.43 bucks per doe, while the fawn-to-doe ratio of 0.90 (0.84 in 2015) is the same as the long-term average. Minnesota Deer Stands Not Allowed Left Overnight on WMAs

With the Minnesota firearms deer season beginning Saturday, Nov. 5, hunters are reminded that deer stands cannot be left overnight on state wildlife management areas (WMA).  Leaving stands overnight on these public lands is a fairly common violation, said Capt.
