Pump Failure Kills Fall-Run Chinook Salmon at California Feather River Fish Hatchery

An estimated 200,000 to 300,000 fall-run Chinook salmon were killed early yesterday morning at the California Feather River Fish Hatchery – Thermalito Facility due to a pump failure from a faulty wire. More than two million remaining salmon at the facility will be released over the next month as they reach an appropriate size. Missouri 2017 Spring Turkey Harvest Down from Last Year

The Missouri 2017 spring turkey season is over and, according to the Department of Conservation, less were harvested this year compared to 2016. Throughout the state, 43,339 turkeys were reported this year, around 5,000 less than last year's numbers. Top harvest counties were Franklin with 932 birds checked, Texas with 843, and Callaway with 697. Last week, the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) Commission adjusted its current proposal to the proposed distribution and number of nonresident temporary (three day) waterfowl licenses and made additional adjustments. Fisheries biologists have set the special fishing regulations for this year at Lake La Su An Wildlife Area, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). Lake La Su An Wildlife Area will be open for fishing on May 5 through September 4, 2017.
