Oregon/Washington Set 2017 Summer Salmon and Steelhead Seasons

Oregon and Washington fishery managers have announced the 2017 summer and fall salmon and steelhead seasons for the Columbia River. The summer season is similar to last year, except that the daily bag limit on hatchery steelhead has been reduced to one fish due to poor expected hatchery and wild steelhead returns. Rhode Island Youth Saltwater Fishing Camp June 27-29  The 2017 Youth Fishing Camp is being run by the Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers Association, in partnership with the Rhode Island DEM Division of Fish & Wildlife and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, with the cooperation of the City of Warwick. The camp is June 27th to June 29th, 2017 from 8:30am to 3:30pm each day. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has announced the application period for the 2017 Wildlife Management Area (WMA) Big Game Quota Hunts, the regular elk, youth elk, and WMA youth will run from June 14 through July 26. South Dakota Sets 2017 Temporary Non-Resident Waterfowl Licenses  The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) Commission kept the total number of temporary (three days) nonresident waterfowl licenses at 2,000 and modified the temporary license unit boundaries at their June meeting. Minnesota Angler Ties His Own State Record for Flathead Catfish  An angler has tied his own state record fish in the catch-and-release length category with a 49-inch flathead catfish, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. May 15 on the Minnesota River near Savage. He caught the 49-inch fish on 100-pound test line. It had a girth of 33-1/2 inches, identical to his previous record caught on June 7, 2016.
