South Dakota Controlled Goose Hunting in Sioux Falls Area Through Feb 14

This past year, the Game, Fish and Parks Department (GFP) created a Metro Zone for Canada Goose Hunting in the area surrounding Sioux Falls. This zone is part of the Unit 2 Canada Goose Hunting Unit and has a later closing date, Feb. 14, than surrounding areas. This area winters a few thousand Canada geese and the later season date creates a unique opportunity for waterfowl hunters, said GFP Region 3 Supervisor, Emmett Keyser.
