Hawaii Announces 2020 Black-Tailed Deer Season on Kaua'i

Deer hunters can now apply to hunt as the Hawaii DLNR announce the opening of the black-tailed deer hunting season on the island of Kaua‘i. Rules and conditions regulating game mammal hunting in Title 13, Chapter 123 will be in effect. The application deadline for the regular deer rifle tag season is 3:30 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2020. IDNR Cancels 2020 Waterfowl Blind Drawings

The Illinois IDNR recently announced it has elected to cancel all waterfowl blind drawings for 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Iowa 2020 Pheasant Nesting Outlook Positive after Mild Winter

Iowa’s recent mild winter and dryer than normal April and May could lead to positive results for pheasant hunters this fall. Hen survival increases during mild winters, and more hens mean more nests and more nests typically means more pheasants in the fall. Iowa DNR Accepting Applications for 2020 Deer Hunting Workshops

The Iowa DNR is offering a program to teach skills needed to hunt, butcher and cook wild deer to individuals who have little to no deer hunting experience. The Field to Fork program is accepting applications for its Ames and Waterloo classes. Missouri Applications for 2020 Managed Deer Hunts Available July 1st

Beginning July 1, 2020 through July 31, deer hunters can apply online through the Missouri MDC website for a shot at more than 100 managed deer hunts throughout the state for archery, muzzleloading, and modern firearms from mid-September through mid-January at conservation areas, state and other parks, national wildlife refuges, and other public areas. Missouri 2020 Frogging Season Opens June 30

The Missouri 2020 frogging season begins June 30 at sunset through Oct. 31, those with a fishing permit or small-game hunting permit may frog for bullfrogs and green frogs. The daily limit is eight frogs of both species combined and the possession limit is 16 frogs of both species combined. New York 2020 Black Bass Fishing Season Opens June 20

New York State DEC recently announced that the traditional harvest season for Largemouth and Smallmouth bass opens on June 20 and closes Nov. 30. In most waters, there is also a catch and release season starting on Dec. 1, and continuing until the start of the regular season, during which anglers can fish for bass using artificial lures. North Carolina Stocks Largemouth Bass into Northeast Cape Fear River

Fisheries biologists with the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission recently stocked 134,000 largemouth bass fingerlings into the Northeast Cape Fear River to help jump start the fishery, which was decimated by Hurricane Florence in 2018.
