Arkansas Passes Special Regulations to Slow CWD
by TBC Press on 06/27/16Arkansas Commissioners voted unanimously during a special meeting to approve a Chronic Wasting Disease Management Zone made up of Boone, Carroll, Johnson, Logan, Madison, Marion, Newton, Pope, Searcy and Yell counties. At the first weigh-in of the 2016 Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic (ECBMC) held in Miramar Beach, FL, Breathe Easy angler Chad Postle brought in a 123-inch blue marlin. Vermont Felt-Soled Wader Ban is Repealed

Using felt-soled waders and boots was prohibited in 2011 out of concern about the spread of didymo, an algae also known as “rock snot,” which was appearing as nuisance blooms in trout rivers throughout North America, including some rivers here in Vermont. In addition to 26 permits drawn from applications received in May, three special permits will be pulled from a separate stack of applications only available on site at the festival. Registration for these permits will be available at the Newton County Senior Center from noon until 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday. New Georgia State Record Shadow Bass Caught on Flint River

Here is hoping that angler Kristen Brown is twice as excited over her catch of June 1, 2016. She holds the new state record shadow bass and it is the first time that shadow bass are recognized as eligible for state record status, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division. Brown, of Baconton, hooked this new state record shadow bass on the Flint River on June 1, 2016 using a plastic worm.
