Idaho Fall Chinook Salmon Fishing Opens Sept 1

Idaho Fish and Game Commission adopted a fall Chinook salmon fishing season to open September 1 on parts of the Snake, Clearwater and Salmon rivers. New Texas Drawn Hunt Opportunities Available: First Application Deadline Aug 3

Hunters can start making plans for the upcoming seasons now by applying for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Drawn Hunts. The online system is currently accepting applications and the first hunt category deadline is less than a month away.

This year there are more opportunities available than ever before as additional drawn hunts on public and private lands are being consolidated into TPWD’s online application system, including a new dove hunting category featuring slots on prime private dove fields. Florida EPIRB Law Goes into Effect

Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) The Florida EPIRB law (Bill CS-CS-HB 427), which stands for emergency position-indicating radio beacon, went into effect recently. While it does not make having an EPIRB mandatory on vessels, it offers the incentive of lower registration fees for vessels equipped with one. Minnesota 2016 Grouse Survey

According to a survey conducted by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Minnesota’s ruffed grouse spring drumming counts were up 18 percent statewide this year compared to last year and Sharp-tailed grouse counts were down slightly. Alabama Bans Deer Parts from CWD-Affected Areas
