First Michigan 2016 Elk Season a Success

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources today announced that Michigan’s first elk hunt of 2016, which ended Oct. 3, had a hunter success rate of 85 percent. Montana Hunter Participation Up During Antelope Season

pronghorn antelope  Biologists report antelope season hunter participation is up in southwest Montana given early data gathered at the Kidd check station south of Dillon on opening weekend and anecdotal reports from around the region. Specifically at the Kidd station on Oct. 8 and Oct.9, staff spoke with 251 antelope hunters. 158 Harvested at least one antelope. Oregon Deer Virus Confirmed in Coos County

Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife biologists confirmed one Coos County black-tailed deer died from a viral infection and suspect several others succumbed to the same disease this past summer. Adenovirus Hemorrhagic Disease (AHD) is a virus transmitted by direct contact between deer, making it easier to spread in areas of high deer concentrations. Preliminary registration numbers indicate a strong 2016 bear hunt in Wisconsin, with 4,643 bears registered. This was another successful season for Wisconsin Bear hunters. SCDNR Declares Temporary Hunting Closures for Portions of Horry, Georgetown Counties

Due to the extremely high river levels and widespread flooding following Hurricane Matthew, the S.C.
