Deep snow and extreme temperatures left their mark across South Dakota in recent weeks, with the most severe areas located in north-central and western South Dakota. These weather conditions have resulted in deer concentrating to form several large herds. With cover and food resources limited, deer herds move into farmyards and storage areas for protection from the weather and to feed, said Keith Fisk, GFPs wildlife damage program administrator. Rabid Bobcat Attacks Four in Sedona, Arizona

Rabid bobcat attacks 4 in AZ  The Arizona Game and Fish Department responded to calls involving a bobcat Thursday, Jan. 12 after it attacked four people in separate incidents within 2.5 miles in the Sedona area. The initial attack occurred at around 8:30 a.m. when a man was bitten and scratched by a bobcat sitting under his vehicle. Vermont Bear Hunters Had a Successful Season in 2016

The Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department reports that bear hunters in Vermont had a safe and successful hunting season in 2016. Preliminary numbers show that hunters took 697 black bears during the 81days of the two-part early and late bear seasons. There also were no hunting-related shooting incidents.
