Arizona Elk Coming to West Virginia in 2018 as Part of Restoration Project  Sixty elk will be making their way to West Virginia in 2018 through a partnership between the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources and the Arizona Game and Fish Department. At its Aug. 4 meeting, the Arizona Game and Fish Commission unanimously approved the capture of five dozen elk to be transported to West Virginia as part of the WVDNR’s ongoing elk restoration project. Alaska 2017 Deer Season in Juneau Looks Promising  Wildlife biologists say all indications point to a good season for deer hunters in the Juneau area. During surveys this spring, biologists counted an increase in pellets, and as such, they're expecting an increase in successful hunts. This year there will be two Mississippi special youth dove hunts held on Black Prairie and Mahannah WMAs. The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources is changing its application process for the popular mentor-youth dove hunts being offered Sept. 2. The hunts allow adults to take kids hunting in dove fields that limit the number of participants. Traditionally, people had to call the department to sign up for a mentor-youth dove hunt.
