Minnesota Close Several Areas to Fishing in Itasca County for Spawning Season  Minnesota anglers in Itasca County will notice fishing closure signs at several area lakes and a creek this spring. These temporary closures are regularly enacted during the start of the fishing season to protect concentrations of spawning fish that may be vulnerable to over-harvest.
