Maine 2019 waterfowl and migratory bird hunting opened with early Canada goose and rails (Sora & Virginia) Sept 2nd. Rails (Sora And Virginia) opened September 2, 2019 - November 9, 2019. Bag limit 25 Singly or in aggregate 25. Rails are considered migratory game birds not migratory waterfowl. The use of lead shot and a shotgun capable of holding more than three shells is prohibited.
