Court Rules Against Louisiana Public Hunting on Catahoula Lake

A district court ruled late last month that Catahoula Lake is a river, not a lake, and therefore may not be managed for public use. There's no state in the union that shoots more ducks per acre than Louisiana, and at no place in Louisiana are the ducks thicker than Catahoula Lake. The waterbody, located in Rapides and Lasalle parishes, is the largest freshwater lake in Louisiana, covering 46 square miles.
