Ohio 2020-21 Dove Hunting Season Opens Sept 1st

To hunt migratory birds in Ohio, you must have the following:
- Harvest Information Program (HIP) certification. To complete the HIP certification requirement, call 1-877-HIP-OHIO (1-877-447-6446) or go to wildohio.gov
New Upland Bird Hunting Regulation changes for 2020-2021
- Ruffed grouse season dates are separate for private land and public hunting areas, and the bag limit has changed.
- Quail hunting is closed on public hunting areas, except for Tri-Valley and Crown City wildlife areas, and the bag limit has changed.
- Restrictions for hunting small game and furbearers during the deer gun season

These guidelines include; social distancing, the Leave No Trace principles, including pack-in and pack-out, to keep outdoor spaces safe and healthy.
Ohio 2020-21 upland bird hunting season opens with dove (Mourning and Eurasian-collared) hunting Sept 1st through Nov. 8, 2020. The season re-opens again Dec. 12, 2020- Jan. 1, 2021.
No person on the opening day of the season shall possess any freshly killed migratory game birds in excess of the daily bag limit, or aggregate daily bag limit, whichever applies.
