Tennessee Mississippi River Floodwaters Zone Open to Turkey Hunters

TWRA is closely monitoring the Mississippi River at Caruthersville (Mo.) because the river is predicted to rise above 34 feet in the coming weeks. In accordance with proclamation 16-45, when the Mississippi River stage is above 34 feet at the Caruthersville gauge, all big game hunting closes immediately in the Mississippi River Floodwaters Zone.
COVID-19
To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and continue to enjoy outdoor activities during this pandemic, ALL outdoorsmen (man, woman, child) must follow the guidelines (set by nps.gov) to help control the spread of COVID-19. These guidelines include; social distancing, the Leave No Trace principles, including pack-in and pack-out, to keep outdoor spaces safe and healthy.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has opened turkey hunting in the Mississippi River Floodwaters Zone.
The Mississippi River Floodwaters Zone includes all lands, public and private, from the northern border with Kentucky (Mississippi River Mile 715) to the southern border with Mississippi (Mississippi River Mile 905) and from the western border of Tennessee, east to the base of the Mississippi River Bluff, a geological land formation with a notable rise in elevation.
