Apply for Maine 2020 Moose Hunting Lottery by May 14

You are eligible to apply if:
  • You are eligible to obtain a Maine Big Game Hunting License or will be eligible to obtain a Maine Big Game Hunting License by the opening day of the Moose hunting season.
  • Applicants under 10 years of age on 9/28/2020 may apply for a bonus point only but are not eligible to win a permit.
  • Sub-permittees and alternate sub-permittees must be 10 years of age on or before 9/28/2020.

To complete the application you will need:
  • Current Hunting License if you are applying with a Superpack license.
  • Personal information (Name, Address, DOB, etc)
  • Sub-permittee information (if applicable)
  • Credit or debit card (Discover, Visa and Mastercard accepted)

COVID-19
To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and continue to enjoy outdoor activities during this pandemic, ALL outdoorsmen (man, woman, child) must follow the guidelines (set by nps.gov) to help control the spread of COVID-19. These guidelines include; social distancing, the Leave No Trace principles, including pack-in and pack-out, to keep outdoor spaces safe and healthy.

Maine is accepting applications through May 14 for one of its most popular fall hunting traditions, the annual moose hunt.

The permits are given out through a lottery. It’s scheduled to take place at Unity College Sky Lodge in Jackman on June 13.

The state bumped the number of moose permits from 2,500 to 2,820 last year. This year’s number of permits has yet to be determined.
