Deadline to Apply for Georgia Alligator Quota Hunts is July 31

Idaho elk hunters can double their hunting opportunity at a discount in August by buying a second tag to extend their season and have a chance to harvest two elk. Starting Aug. 1, Fish and Game is offering nonresident elk tags for $299 when purchased as a second tag (plus $1.75 vendor fee), which is discounted from the regular price of $416. Idaho Proposes 2016 Sage-Grouse Season

Idaho Fish and Game is seeking comments on two options for the 2016 sage-grouse season. Option 1 is the same as the season offered in 2015. Option 2 would re-open Elmore County east and south of U.S. Highway 20 and north of Interstate 84.  This area was closed in 2012 due to local wildfire impacts and low population numbers, but recent surveys indicate numbers have improved and that these birds are connected to the larger population to the east. Deadline Aug 1 for Some Wisconsin Fall Hunting & Trapping Seasons

August 1 is an important deadline for fall hunters and trappers pursuing wild turkey, sharp-tailed grouse, bobcat, fisher and otter. Minnesota youths can apply to hunt deer in select state parks and other refuge areas during 17 special deer hunts in October and November. The 2016 application period for the trapping of a peregrine falcon to be used in falconry is underway, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has announced. The TWRA will award this permit to the winner of a draw to be held on Wednesday, Aug. 31.
