Illinois Hunters Harvest Preliminary Total of 79,429 Deer During Gun Season

That figure compares to the final total of 86,847 deer harvested during the seven days of the firearm season in 2015. Washington to Launch New Recreational Licensing System

Washington Offers $9,000 in Rewards for Information on 5 Elk Poached

With $9,000 in reward money on the table, enforcement officers for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) continue to search for the poacher or poachers who gunned down five elk in a canyon near Ellensburg last month. The elk – four yearlings and a full-grown cow – were discovered by two hunters in Schnebly Canyon north of town and reported to the department Nov. 6. West Virginia Deer Hunters Harvest 45,871 Bucks During the 2016 Firearms Season
by TBC Press on 12/07/16Preliminary data collected from the electronic game checking system indicate deer hunters in West Virginia harvested 45,871 bucks during the two-week buck firearms season which ran from Nov. 21 through Dec. 3, 2016, according to Paul Johansen, chief of the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (DNR) Wildlife Resources Section. The 2016 buck harvest is down 25 percent from the 2015 harvest of 60,814.
