Washington Tentatively Schedules Razor Clam Digs through February

Final approval of all scheduled openings at Copalis, Mocrocks and Kalaloch beaches will depend on whether results of marine toxin tests show the clams are safe to eat. At its Dec. 16 meeting in Jefferson City, the Missouri Conservation Commission voiced final approval for regulation changes recommended by the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) related to smallmouth bass and rock bass. The regulation changes become effective on March 30, 2017. Arizona Confirms Jaguar Sighting is New Cat - Not El Jeffe

Scientists at the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) completed an independent analyses of trail cam photos of a jaguar in the Huachuca Mountains and confirmed that the animal has not been seen previously in Arizona. Five scientists from the department independently examined the photos from the new sighting with those from previous jaguars in Arizona to compare spot patterns and concluded that this animal has not been sighted in previously in the state, said Jim deVos, assistant director for Wildlife Management at AZGFD. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is reminding north state Trinity River anglers to return salmon and steelhead tags in a timely manner. Tag return information is used each year to calculate harvest and help biologists estimate population size of steelhead and salmon runs.
