WDFW Confirms AHD in Deer in South-Central Washington
by TBC Press on 09/06/17For the first time in Washington, wildlife managers have found in deer a viral infection known as Adenovirus Hemorrhagic Disease (AHD). Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) officials confirmed AHD, which can be deadly to deer, in a herd east of Goldendale in Klickitat County. This type of AHD is specific to deer and is not uncommon in other states, including Oregon where an outbreak was reported near The Dalles earlier this year. WDFW Seeking Input on Columbian Sharp-Tailed Grouse Status

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is taking public comments on its recommendation to keep the Columbian sharp-tailed grouse on the state's threatened species list. The department periodically reviews the status of protected species in the state. Washington Anglers Restricted to Catch-and-Release Steelhead Fishing on the Snake River

State fishery managers also are reducing the daily catch limit for steelhead on tributaries of the Snake River, including the Grande Ronde, Touchet and Tucannon rivers, as well as on the Walla Walla River. Angler from AZ Lands New Washington State Record Blue Shark

An Arizona angler fishing out of Westport has established the sport fish record for the largest blue shark caught in Washington waters, fishery managers with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) confirmed.
