Based upon California (CDFW) projections of the recreational fall Chinook salmon catch on the Klamath River, anglers will meet the Upper Klamath River adult fall Chinook salmon quota below Iron Gate Dam for the 2020 season as of 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18. The Hawaii DLNR Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) will soon begin constructing a fence in the upper Honop? Valley. The general hunting community is encouraged to hunt this area in anticipation of it being fenced. The purpose of this fence is to remove hooved animals that are damaging federally listed threatened and endangered plants and seabirds occurring in this forested area. Thirteen new Open Fields enrollments are now available for Montana 2020 game bird hunters, just in time for opening day of pheasant season. The new projects were not included in the Upland Game Bird Enhancement Program Projects Access Guide because of timing issues, but hunters may find maps showing the new enrollments on the Upland Game Bird Enhancement Program’s Web page and can also view the project locations and boundaries on FWP’s online Hunt Planner map.  FWP staff are currently in the process of signing access boundaries for the new projects and anticipate most of them will be signed before the pheasant season opens on… READ MORE

The Rhode Island 2020 season for pheasant, cottontail rabbit, gray squirrel, bobwhite quail, red and gray fox opens Saturday, October 17 – Saturday, February 28, 2021. Tennessee Youth between the ages of 10-16, who are hunter safety certified and who have never harvested a deer, are eligible to win a spot in what has become an annual special hunt. Idaho 2020-21 waterfowl season opens Monday, Oct. 19 in much of the state, and has been open since Oct. 3 in Eastern Idaho and Valley County (Area 2). The Minnesota pheasant hunting season opens at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, and the DNR’s annual roadside pheasant survey showed a 42 percent increase in the state pheasant index this year relative to 2019.
