Limited 2020 Idaho Non-Resident DAV Reduced-Price Deer & Elk Tags on Sale Dec 1st

Idaho new rules for 2021 Legislative approval included a limit on the number of reduced-price deer and elk tags available for nonresident disabled American veterans. The new limit is 500 nonresident DAV deer tags and 300 nonresident DAV elk tags for over-the-counter deer and elk hunts. Because the number of nonresident DAV reduced-price tags will be limited for over-the-counter hunts, they are expected to to sell out quickly and will go on sale Dec. 1, 2020 at 10 a.m. Mountain Time. New York DEC Acquires 525 Acres In Western NY For Wildlife Management

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) recently announced the recent acquisition of 525 acres in the town of North Collins, Erie County, to create the Clear Lake Wildlife Management Area (WMA). Pennsylvania’s fall turkey season kicks off Saturday, Oct. 31 in 19 of Pennsylvania’s 23 Wildlife Management Units (WMUs), with more fall turkey hunting – including the return of a three-day Thanksgiving season – around the corner in much of the state. Ring-necked pheasant hunters have the chance to pursue this popular game bird when the Ohio (ODNR) Division of Wildlife releases the birds at 28 of Ohio’s public hunting areas in late October and November. Apply for Arkansas 2020 Trophy Alligator Gar Permits Starting Nov 1

The application period to catch and keep a trophy-size Arkansas alligator gar opens Nov. 1 and closes Dec. 31. Only 100 tags will be awarded for the 2021 calendar year. This tag is required to harvest an alligator gar larger than 36 inches. Anyone may fish for alligator gar on a catch-and-release basis, but anglers interested in keeping a trophy gar in 2021 must enter a free online drawing Nov. 1-Dec. 31 for one of 100 Alligator Gar Trophy tags. Florida 2020 Greater Amberjack Fishing Closes Nov 1 in Gulf State Waters

CPW Offers Additional Refund Options for Hunters Impacted by Wildfire Closures

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is providing options for hunters impacted by Tuesday's announcement from the U.S. Forest Service regarding closures in Boulder, Gilpin and Clear Creek counties. With the announcement of these new closures, hunters with tags in Game Management Units (GMUs) 29, 38 and 39 will be affected. Effective October 24, the start of the Vermont fall shotgun turkey hunting season, hunters will also have the option to report their  harvested turkeys online through the department’s website. Angler Lands New Vermont Record Lake Trout   The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department recently certified a record fish entry for a 19.36-pound lake trout caught in Lake Champlain in August.  Department officials say this demonstrates the positive impact long-term sea lamprey control efforts are having on the lake’s quality fishing opportunities.
