If you have not applied already, this is a reminder that the S.C. Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) is accepting applications for deer lottery hunts on public lands through 5 p.m. on Aug. 15. South Carolina has set the 2020-21 Migratory Bird and Waterfowl Hunting Seasons. Dates and Regulations also set for State Youth Day and Veteran/Active Duty Military Days. Black ducks/mottled ducks, the limit is as follows: For areas east of I-95, one black duck or one mottled duck in the total bag of no more than six. Apply for West Virginia 2020 McClintic WMA Waterfowl Hunt by Aug 11

Hunters who wish to participate in a controlled waterfowl hunt at McClintic Wildlife Management Area in Mason County have until midnight on Aug. 11 to submit an application to the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources. Applications Available for Maryland 2020 Stocked Pheasant Hunts

The Maryland DNR invites all junior license holders, apprentice license holders, and lapsed hunters to apply to participate in this year’s stocked pheasant hunts. These do-it-yourself hunts will take place on 12 Maryland WMAs and two state forests. A lapsed hunter is someone who has held a Maryland hunting license in the past, but has not purchased a license in three of the past five years. Alabama Hunting Season Dates Announced for 2020-2021

 New Deer Zones, Early Dove Season and the Return of Sandhill Crane Hunting


The 2020-2021 hunting season will bring big changes for white-tailed deer hunters in a few parts of Alabama with the creation of two new deer zones. The newly created zones D and E will allow hunters to gun hunt before and during the peak of the rut (deer breeding season) in those locations. Zone D includes areas in Cullman, Franklin, Lawrence and Winston counties. Zone E includes areas in Barbour, Calhoun, Cleburne and Russell counties. Alabama Reminds Alligator Hunters of No-Cull Regulation

With Alabama’s 2020 alligator season only a couple of weeks away, the Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries (WFF) Division wants to remind those lucky tag holders about the no-cull rule in effect. With the exception of the Lake Eufaula Zone, tag holders are not allowed to release an alligator after it has been captured. The exception for the Lake Eufaula Zone is because it is the only zone that has a minimum size length, which is 8 feet total length. Hunters mark your calendars for the first Tuesday in August to take a shot at 2020 big game hunting licenses remaining in Colorado after the primary and secondary draws. Florida 2020 Lionfish Challenge Extended to Nov 1

The Florida 2020 Lionfish Challenge has been extended. Participants will now have until Nov. 1 to submit their lionfish. The Lionfish Challenge rewards lionfish harvesters with prizes for their lionfish removals. The participants who harvest the most lionfish will be crowned the Recreational Lionfish King/Queen and the Commercial Champion. KDWPT to Offer Limited, High-Quality Hunts Through Special Program

Kansas KDWPT seek to create additional hunting opportunities through the department’s Special Hunts program. Through this limited draw program, hunters can gain temporary, exclusive access to private lands, wildlife areas, state parks, federal lands and city- or county-owned properties not normally hunted, ensuring a memorable experience. Most special hunts are for deer and upland game, but opportunities also exist for waterfowl, turkey and more. Texas 2020 Red Snapper Season in Federal Waters to Close Aug 3

Texas private recreational angler red snapper season in federal waters will close at 12:01 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3. Anglers may continue to harvest up to 4 red snapper per day with a 15-inch minimum length limit from Texas state waters. Vermont 2020 Moose Hunt Auction Closes Aug 12

Vermont’s 2020 auction for three moose hunting permits is open until 4:30 p.m. August 12.  Bids will be opened and winners notified on August 13. Florida 2020 Greater Amberjack Harvest Reopens in Gulf Waters Aug 1st

The 2020 recreational harvest of greater amberjack will reopen in Florida Gulf state and federal waters Aug 1. This season is scheduled to remain open through Oct. 31 in Gulf state and federal waters.
