The California (CDFW) has confirmed outbreaks of adenovirus hemorrhagic disease in deer in several northern California counties, and is asking California residents to help curb the spread by not feeding wild animals, and reporting potential cases to the department. The Louisiana (LDWF) will conduct two youth waterfowl lottery hunts on White Lake Wetlands Conservation Area (WCA) in Vermilion Parish on Nov. 7-8. The deadline to apply is Aug. 31. All lottery applications are now only available online at the LDWF website. Only one White Lake WCA Youth Lottery application may be submitted per customer. The Montana drawing for 2020 antelope and antelope B permits will be held Thursday, Aug. 6. Because so many hunters selected the 900-20 antelope archery only license as their first choice in the drawing, there will not be any 900-20 antelope archery only surplus licenses available. The Wisconsin DNR Board approved the final 2020 deer season structure and antlerless harvest authorization levels. Deer hunting licenses are currently on sale for the 2020 deer seasons. The Wyoming GFD opened the bighorn sheep hunting season from August 1 through August 31 in the Owl Creek drainage portion of Bighorn Sheep Hunt Area 5. The new early opening date for the select area is to provide hunters an opportunity to harvest any bighorn sheep to minimize commingling with domestic sheep. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will accept applications for its private land dove hunting program Aug. 1-15 for five private fields throughout the state.
