IDNR Announces Changes to Dove Hunting at State Sites

The changes will provide greater protection to both the hunting public and site staff during the season. The Free Dove Permit online application closed at midnight Sunday, Aug. 16. A Dorchester County resident has officially been recognized by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources for a new state fishing record, Chesapeake Bay Division, for sheepshead. Daniel Mastronardi, Jr. caught the 14.1-pound record-breaking fish around noon on August 9, 2020 in the lower bay, with peeler crab for bait in about 15 feet of water near the target ship USAS American Mariner. The spring Chinook fishery essentially died a natural death,” said Kyle Bratcher, the Wallowa District Fish Biologist. Just when it appeared that the Alabama 2020 red snapper season was a wrap, private recreational anglers are likely to get one more opportunity to fish this year.
