California 2019-20 general upland game bird hunting season will open in mid-September for several species in specific zones around the state, providing hunters with many opportunities to bring home some delicious table fare. New Missouri State Record Brown Trout Caught at Lake Taneycomo  The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) confirms Bill Babler of Blue Eye is now the new state-record holder for brown trout after catching a monster 40-pound, 6-ounce fish at Lake Taneycomo Sept. 4 using a pole-and-line. Montana Upper Big Hole River Temporarily Closed to Fishing

A 46-mile section of Montana's upper Big Hole River is closed to all fishing due to low flows. A full angling closure  went into effect on Aug. 31 from Saginaw Bridge on Skinner Meadow Road to the north fork of the Big Hole River. Freediver Hauls up Record-Size Alaska Halibut  John Dornellas traveled to Alaska recently hoping to spear a giant Pacific halibut, and the avid freediver appears to have set a world record that'll be difficult to break.
