Saltwater Permit Made Easier for Georgia Anglers  Effective in 2020, Georgia saltwater anglers will see a simple change in the Saltwater Information Program (SIP) permit. Licensed anglers, including lifetime and senior license holders, who want to fish in Georgia's saltwater need the free, annual SIP permit. The free permit will now expire one year from date of issuance, rather than the last day of February.  Permit holders may also renew up to 60 days prior to the expiration of their current SIP permit. Tennessee Confirms Silver Carp Found in Chickamauga Lake

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources received a report on Jan. 10 that a silver carp was captured on Chickamauga Lake in October. The angler, Dustin Hinkle, said the invasive fish jumped into the boat as I deployed my trolling motor. Hinkle encountered the fish near the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, and stated he saw 15-20 more fish near the surface exhibiting a feeding behavior. Michigan Restores 5-Fish Daily Limit for Brook Trout in U.P. Streams  An experimental regulation that allowed for 33 streams in the Upper Peninsula to have a 10-fish daily possession limit for brook trout is no longer in effect.
