  South Dakota’s traditional statewide pheasant hunting season opens on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, and runs through Jan. 6, 2019. According to the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP), this year’s pheasant brood survey shows a 47 percent increase over last year.   The Alaska 2018 Nelchina caribou hunt DC485 closed by emergency order for the remainder of the fall hunting season on Sunday, August 26, at 11:59 p.m.  As of Friday, DC485 hunters in Game Management Unit 13 had reported taking 121 bull caribou. The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is proposing regulations that will require the use of nontoxic shot for hunting doves on 20 conservation areas with heavy, concentrated dove hunting.
