Wisconsin Awards 12,850 Permits for 2017 Black Bear Hunt

Notifications have been sent to 12,850 Wisconsin hunters who successfully drew a black bear permit for the 2017 hunting season. This year's harvest quota of 5,000, approved by the Natural Resources Board at its January 2017 meeting, was set with the intention of reducing the population in northwest Wisconsin and stabilizing the population in the rest of the state.
