The Iowa DNR will hold the 2020 spring auction on March 21, in the Livestock Pavilion on the Iowa State Fairgrounds, in Des Moines. Maine is now accepting applications for the 2020 Moose Hunting Lottery. Applications must be completed by 11:59 pm (ET) on May 14, 2020. Maryland Angler Catches Record Longnose Gar   A Hurlock fisherman is the new Maryland state Chesapeake Division record holder for longnose gar, with a catch that weighed 18.3 pounds. Elk, moose and bighorn sheep applications are available online at the North Dakota Game and Fish Department’s website. The deadline to apply is March 25. A total of 523 elk licenses are available to hunters this fall, an increase of 45 from last year. A total of 474 moose licenses are available, a decrease of five from last year. Oregon Cancels Five 2020 Deer Hunts in Blue Mountains Due to Disease Outbreak in 2019

ODFW is cancelling five 600 Series deer hunts, meaning hunters will not be able to apply or draw the tag for them for the upcoming fall 2020 season. The cancellations are in an area of the Blue Mountains from Milton-Freewater to Pilot Rock where an outbreak of Epizootic hemorrhagic disease (EHD) is estimated to have killed 2,000 white-tailed deer late last year. Colorado Parks and Wildlife reminds shed hunters that the collection and possession of antlers or horns on all public lands west of I-25 is prohibited between January 1 and April 30 each year. This closure is intended to protect wintering animals from unnecessary human disturbance during the late winter months. Missouri Angler Breaks Days-Old Record for Yellow Perch   The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) congratulates Brian Holiday of Fordland for becoming a state-record holder after catching a 2-pound, 3-ounce yellow perch from Bull Shoals Lake. This is the second time the record for yellow perch has been broken in 2020. Wild turkey hunters have until March 13 to apply for limited permits for the spring season in two north central Montana hunting districts. The turkey hunting districts – 400 and 445 – have a quota of 20 permits each. Applications are available at the Fish, Wildlife and Parks website. New AIS Rules for Montana Nonresident Boaters and Anglers  Nonresident boaters and anglers visiting Montana will see new aquatic invasive species rules in 2020. The 2019 Montana Legislature reduced the fee nonresident anglers pay for the Angler Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Pass.
