  Transportation Research Center, Inc. (TRC) will hold a lottery drawing for special white-tailed deer hunting opportunities on Thursday, Oct. 17, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife.   Drowning is the biggest safety risk for waterfowl hunters. Live to hunt another day by wearing a life jacket or float coat. Hunters from ALL states should heed this advise.   Ruffed grouse numbers are alarmingly low in Indiana, causing the DNR Commission to consider adding the native bird to the state’s endangered species list. Young forest habitat for grouse has continually disappeared in the Hoosier State since the 1980’s – hunters haven’t had a chase to actually hunt ruffed grouse since 2015.
