Arkansas Fur Prices Down for 2nd Year in a Row  Fur prices are affected by many factors, according to Blake Sasse, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s nongame mammal coordinator. For example, he says, when oil prices are high, Russians are more likely to purchase fur, meaning that demand eventually trickles down to Arkansas trappers of furbearing animals such as the coyote, whose fur is used to line coats. Unlike other controlled hunts, you can enter Idaho's Super hunt Drawing as many times as you like. The deadline for the first Super Hunt drawing is May 31. Super Hunt entries are $6 each. Super Hunt Combo entries are $20 each. Initial Results Negative For CWD in Northeast Louisiana

Initial sampling efforts by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) for chronic wasting disease (CWD) in East Carroll, Madison and Tensas parishes have not turned up any positive results of the disease. LDWF has sampled 188 deer from the three parishes, located in northeast Louisiana, with results received back on 114 of the specimens on April 3, with no positives detected. Missouri Successfully Removed 47,000 Asian Carp from Creve Coeur Lake  In a recent fishing exercise at Creve Coeur Lake in Maryland Heights, Missouri, our biologists worked with the Missouri Department of Conservation, U.S. Geological Survey, and the St. Louis County Parks Department to remove 47,000 Asian carp from the lake. The lake is primary infested with silver carp, a type of Asian carp that jumps out of the water when agitated by the sound of a boat motor. North Dakota Bighorn Sheep Population Declines

The North Dakota Game and Fish Department’s 2017 bighorn sheep survey revealed a minimum of 265 bighorn sheep in western North Dakota, down 11 percent from 2016 and 9 percent below the five-year average. Altogether, biologists counted 91 rams, 149 ewes and 25 lambs. Not included are approximately 20 bighorns in the North Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. North Dakota landowners who are interested in applying for a 2018 deer gratis license can fill out their application online starting April 2 by visiting the state Game and Fish Department. Under provisions of the Pacific Salmon Treaty, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) announces that the 2018 preseason Chinook salmon all-gear harvest limit for Southeast Alaska is 130,000 "treaty fish". This year's all-gear harvest limit is nearly 80,000 fish lower than the preseason limit available in 2017 and includes a 10% reduction in response to conservation needs for Southeast Alaska (SEAK), Transboundary River, and Northern British Columbia Chinook salmon stocks. Michigan DNR Announces Tagged Walleye Could Be Worth $100 If Reported  The Michigan DNR made an announcement last week that 3,000 walleyes have been tagged, and released in a number of Saginaw Bay tributary rivers. They are now asking anglers who catch the tagged fish to collect and report information back to the state. It’s worth noting there are two different styles of tags for anglers to watch out for. The Missouri Conservation Commission approved recommendations from the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) for the upcoming 2018 migratory-game-bird-hunting seasons and 2018-2019 waterfowl-hunting seasons.
