Wisconsin Survey Results Indicate a Decrease in Ruffed Grouse Population  A Wisconsin roadside ruffed grouse surveys completed this spring showed statewide drumming activity decreased 34 percent between 2017 and 2018. While this decline does not follow the generally predictable grouse population cycle, the 2018 drumming observations do fall within the normal range of variability of the grouse cycle. Missouri Expands Deer Feeding Ban to More Counties

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) has expanded its restrictions on feeding deer and placing minerals for deer to seven new counties in response to finding cases of chronic wasting disease (CWD) in or near them. Nebraska hunters have until July 6 to apply for a 2018-2019 multispecies lottery permit. Two types of permits are available: Super Tag and Combo.
