California Sets 2018-19 Waterfowl Regulations  The California Fish and Game Commission adopted the 2018-19 waterfowl hunting regulations at their regularly scheduled meeting on April 19. The pintail daily bag limit has returned to two, and there have been some changes to accommodate a longer late season for white-fronted geese in the Northeastern Zone. Removing Shed Elk Antlers is Prohibited in West Virginia

The WV Division of Natural Resources is reminding hunters and other outdoor enthusiasts possession of shed elk antlers and removing them from the wild is prohibited by West Virginia State Code. Kentucky Opens Additional Property to Public Access

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources has opened more land for public use. Old Trace Creek Wildlife Management Area (WMA) is a 323-acre property near the community of Emerson in Lewis County. Hunting on the WMA is allowed under statewide regulations. Apply for Kentucky 2018 Elk Hunting Permits by April 30  Hunters interested in entering this year’s Kentucky elk hunt drawing have until midnight (EST) April 30 to buy applications. Hunters can apply online at the department’s website. Kentucky residents and non-residents are eligible to apply for four permit types but can only be drawn for one. Each application costs $10. Recent Regulation Change Helps Michigan Anglers Pursuing Steelhead this Spring

Recent legislation passed in Michigan has simplified fishing regulations for anglers, particularly those pursuing steelhead on the state’s rivers and streams in the spring.
